Reflecting on last week's class, I believed it would be beneficial for me to find additional recourses to help me in the areas in which I felt less confident. I signed up for the free webinar offered by google: Writing For Social Media.
Description: After my last week's session, whilst setting up our blogs and Microsites I realised in order to produce engaging content to garner traffic to my website, I would need to write social media posts that grab the attention of the viewer. After researching resources, I decided to join the Google Webinar, which is congruent with the tools we are currently using in class.
Feelings: I felt anticipation to learn something new that I could apply to my classwork. As Google is a leader in the market, I felt I made the right decision to choose them to help further my knowledge. Although I felt that during the time frame given, it would be a rushed session leaving me with more questions. This made me feel apprehensive at the same time.
Evaluation: Good: I was impressed by how much content the webinar was able to go through, it was extremely informative and gave some good resources to check out. Bad: there were many people who were asking questions in the webinar chat, which made it hard for my questions to be answered, this meant I had to find answers to my questions by a different means.
Analysis: Although Big brands such as Google provide free education resources, they are often generalised and the vast majority of listeners/ participants could mean that your particular questions may not be answered.
Conclusion: This was a valuable session and I will be signing up for more lessons that can help me improve my knowledge about Google and its tools. Next time I will be sure to conduct more research on the resources available. this taught me to be resourceful and be proactive in finding resources.
Action Plan: Next time I will ask my tutor for any recommendations for resources on my specific topic, this could narrow down the search and have better credible results.
